Rideouts are held on the first Sunday of each month (except January) and the third Wednesday evening of each month during the summer. We operate a “Drop Off” system, which prevents anyone getting lost and means that all riders can ride at a pace they are comfortable with.
All rides begin with a briefing about the ride, covering details about the route and the drop-off system.
Time and place
All group rideouts start at the Budgens Petrol Station at Langford, half a mile north of Churchill traffic lights on the A38. The garage has a shop and toilets. Departure times are 9:00am in the summer (BST) and 10:30am in the winter. Please be ready for the briefing 10 minutes before departure, all fuelled up and ready to go. See the Events Programme for details of each ride.
Who can join rides?
All Members and Associates are welcome to join the rides and guests can come along subject to the ride leader’s approval. Please contact a Committee member beforehand if you would like to join a ride as a guest. You can do this via the Contact form.
Slow riding sessions
We arrange slow riding practice for both Associates and existing Members to attend, once or twice a year. There is usually an opportunity to use a club bike, which is available for anyone who feels that the potential for dropping their own bike is putting them off taking part. Places are limited to 12 and the sessions are usually an hour and a half long.
Castle Combe Track Days
Independent arrangements are made once a year to take part in a track day at Castle Combe Circuit, near Chippenham. This is limited to 12 group members and we are allocated a dedicated group to go round the track.
Track Day Instruction
Circuit instructors are on hand all day to answer any questions.
Instructors are also happy to go out on track with anyone who requests it, for one-to-one help to improve specific skills. It’s always a brilliant day out!
