Meet at the Budgens Service Station at 8:45 for fuel and short briefing. Leaving at 9am sharp!
From the A38 head towards Shipham/Wedmore/Mark From Mark to Woolavington on the B3141
A39 through Bridgwater to Durley Resevoir
Over Quantocks to Bishop’s Lydeard
On to Bampton and then the glorious A396 to Dunster with twisty’s galore!
From Dunster turn left on A39
To the Tesco Superstore, Minehead for fuel and comfort stop
Rejoin A39 towards Porlock. Through Porlock town to the signposted ’Toll Road’ – hairpins ahead!
The TOLL is £1.50 per motorcycle, this will be collected by Phil prior to departure as we have arranged that the TOLL is paid in a lump sum.
From the toll road rejoin A39,
Descend Countisbury hill into Lynmouth
Lunch break at the Lyn Valley Cafe EX356EH. This is the white building across the road from the car park. Approximately 1 hour stop. We will need numbers prior to departure as they are opening for us offering English breakfasts, vegetarian options, tea coffee toast etc.
Parking in the normal car/coach park.
Depart Lynmouth on the B3234 Lynton Hill
Rejoin A39 towards Blackmoor Gate
From Blackmore Gate we will be heading again for Bampton via some more twisty’s and a good mixture of roads.
At Bampton turn left onto B3190 towards Moorbath and onto Elworthy, here we pick up the trail again for Bishops Lydeard retracing our route over the wonderful Quantocks, this time offering a superb view of the Bristol channel and beyond.
Once back in Bridgwater stopping at McDonalds for coffee and goodbyes! Sainsbury Petrol Station on site.
Approx riding time: 2.45 hours morning 2.30 hours afternoon
First Leg - Estimated 95 miles
Second Leg - 80 miles
A technical ride combining a variety of road types and surfaces.
