Safer Biking Video by SRSP
SRSP - "Somerset Road Safety Partnership" This is a great video made for Somerset County Council / Somerset Road Safety Partnership to promote safer riding by motorcyclists in Somerset. Released in July 2008 this TV / Radio motorcycle safety campaign video is well worth viewing and certainly gets the point over! Why don't we see more motorcycle safety and motorcycle awareness (for other road users) PSA's (American term I think, "Personal Service Anouncement"....informercial?) on TV and Radio? :-( Introduction - Safer Biking Video Safer Biking Video by Somerset Road Safety Partnership (July 2008) For 2003 - 2007 July has seen more motorcycle casualties than any other month. So far in 2008 five motorcyclists have already lost their lives in road traffic collisions in Somerset alone. Somerset Road Safety Partnership has produced a short film on DVD, titled 'Safer Biking' that extols the virtues of further training. The film, which is presented by BBC's Clinton Rogers, starts with a simulated bike collision. This is followed by a brief interview with a widow, who lost her husband in a motorcycle collision in 2008. The film then shows an Avon and Somerset Constabulary Bikesafe course in progress, with clips from some of the riders taking part and goes on to suggest options for further training for riders. National Motorcycle Week (2008) runs from 14th-18th July. In anticipation of this week, on the 11th July, Somerset Road Safety Partnership will be delivering the first copies of the film to motorcycle dealers in Somerset. A motorcycle cavalcade will tour the county. The cavalcade will hand over the first copy at Total Triumph on the A38 Wellington Road between Taunton and Wellington at 9.30am and the riders will then make their way through Taunton, Bridgwater, Minehead, Burnham-on-Sea, Frome and Yeovil."
